Sustain Restorative Justice at Holyoke High School for the long haul
The Pa’lante Restorative Justice Program, a youth of color led organization at Holyoke High School, works to build youth power, center student voice, and organize for school discipline and educational policies and practices that actively dismantle the school to prison pipeline in Holyoke and beyond.
In the Holyoke school district that once ranked 4th in the nation for suspending Latino students, Pa'lante is working for solutions, not suspensions. Peer leaders facilitate restorative circles when conflict arises in their community, and develop Youth Participatory Action Research (YPAR) projects where they engage in critical action research to address problems relevant to their lived experience at Holyoke High School.
These young leaders have stepped up to change their school community, and they need your support.
Despite its success, the program continues to operate with uncertain staffing and funding from year to year.
Pa’lante Signal Boost is launching this winter, calling on supporters of Pa’lante from across Western Mass to become Amplifiers.
Amplifiers are willing to step up within their community to share the powerful work Pa’lante is doing and engage in peer-to-peer fundraising to sustain Pa’lante for the long haul.
Will you join us by becoming a Pa'lante Amplifier?
The Basics of Being an Amplifier:
1. Attend monthly meetings from March - July (optional - we can provide all the support necessary if you cannot make the meetings!)
2. Make a personal financial contribution to Pa’lante
($5/month or more)
3. Fundraise by tapping into networks of friends, family and community
(don't worry, you'll be guided through this!)
